The secret of what your customer really wants

What does your customer really wants?

  • Your customer doesn’t care about you,
  • Your customer doesn’t care about your ideas,
  • Your customer doesn’t care about your opinions,
  • Your customer doesn’t care about your technological breakthrough,
  • Your customer doesn’t care about your solution,
  • Your customer doesn’t care about your revolutionary product,
  • Your customer doesn’t care about the features of your products,
  • Your customer wants results.

The most important fact you can learn in business is that customers don’t want products, they want results.

You can have everything you want in life, if you help enough other people get what they want. – Zig Ziglar

You have to stop thinking in term of solution and start thinking in term of needs, problems and results. Of course solutions are important, but they come second, because even a perfect product, if it is not the solution to a compelling problem, will not sell. The question that is on their mind is: “What’s in it for me?” You should be able to clearly answer this question about your product.

There is no problem with having the idea first, but then you have to spend the time to find the problem your solution is fixing and whom is having this problem.

Don’t kid yourself, if you don’t start focusing on customer needs and problems, your are not starting a business, you are just having a hobby

Exercise
– start thinking in term of needs and problems: every time you see a product, ask yourself the question “what is the problem this product try to address?”
